This tutorial introduces how to use various example projects based on WT99P4C5-S1 from the wireless-tag GitHub, including MIPI-DSI displays, cameras, and more.

Supported Video Formats

Video Playback Notes

  • MJPEG format videos must be stored on an SD card and the SD card must be inserted into the SD card slot
  • Currently, only MJPEG format videos are supported
  • After inserting the SD card, the video player app will automatically appear on the interface

Video Format Conversion Method

  1. Install ffmpeg:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install ffmpeg
  1. Use ffmpeg to convert videos:
ffmpeg -i YOUR_INPUT_FILE_NAME.mp4 -vcodec mjpeg -q:v 2 -vf "scale=1024:600" -acodec copy YOUR_OUTPUT_FILE_NAME.mjpeg

How to Use the Video Player

  1. Prepare Video Files

    • Convert video files to MJPEG format using the method above
    • Ensure the resolution is adjusted to 1024x600 for optimal display
  2. Set Up the SD Card

    • Insert a formatted SD card into the SD card slot
    • Copy the converted MJPEG files to the SD card
  3. Launch the Video Player

    • The video player application will automatically read the SD card
    • Select a video from the detected file list to play

WiFi/BLE Usage

Description

  • ESP32P4 itself does not support Wi-Fi, so an additional Wi-Fi/BLE-capable co-processor is required;
  • The current development board is paired with ESP32C5 and communicates via SDIO.

Usage

ESP32P4 Project Configuration

Open menuconfig and navigate to the corresponding configuration option to configure esp32c5 as the slave:

(Top) → Component config → Wi-Fi Remote → choose slave target

Note: Pay attention to pin configuration
